Design and Display:

The Realme Narzo 50 Pro 5G comes with a basic matte finish polycarbonate back with a rectangular camera module and feels lightweight in hand. Apart from that, the buttons are responsive and easy to use. The placement of a USB C port, speaker grille, and 3.5mm headphone jack in its usual position at the bottom while the authentication duties are carried out by an in-display fingerprint sensor. Realme Narzo 50 Pro 5G comes with two color options, one is Hyper Black and another one is Hyper Blue. The phone has a moderate thickness of 7.99mm and weighs 182g.

On the display side, the phone has a 6.4-inch 90Hz and an FHD+ resolution Super AMOLED panel with a top left punch hole for the selfie camera. For display protection, Realme has also installed Corning Gorilla Glass 5 to prevent accidental scratches on the display. The device comes with 1000 nits peak brightness making it easier to use in outdoor conditions. Although the screen does have HDR 10+ support. Realme is a brand that has been providing a good viewing experience on its mid-range smartphones and the Narzo 50 Pro 5G builds on the same.

Camera Capabilities:

As far as the cameras are concerned, the Realme Narzo 50 Pro 5G on the rear packs a triple camera setup featuring a 48-megapixel primary shooter supported by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. In front, featuring a 16-megapixel sensor for selfies.

The 48MP primary camera is decent for good-quality photos. Color contrast and dynamic range look pretty good in daylight, but there is some noise when shooting in low light.

The 8MP ultra-wide camera performs well enough for other phones in this budget range. The natural color and dynamic range of the images captured with this camera are very good.

I think the 2MP macro camera only serves to increase the number of cameras. The camera app has an option called macro mode, where the 2MP camera comes in handy.

Photos taken with the 16MP selfie camera have natural colors and good details. But if the picture is taken in HDR mode, the background color will be completely different from the natural color.

It's decent in low light when you're taking pictures. However, it takes a few seconds to process the images after they are taken. Noise levels seem acceptable in low-light photography, but images tend toward slightly warmer color temperatures.

From the rear camera, you can record videos up to 4K at 30 fps, and 1080p at 60 fps. In front, you can shoot up to 1080p at 30 fps. Moreover, the phone has the facility of dual video recording.

Overall the Narzo 50 Pro 5G's camera is decent, but the addition of the ultra-wide camera makes this phone much more practical.

Battery and Charging:

The phone comes with a massive 5,000mAh battery, providing enough power to keep you going throughout the day. The device supports a 33W Dart charger out of the box, which is allowing you to charge from 1% to 50% in 33 minutes and a full charge in 1 hour and 10 minutes. You can easily last a full day with a single charge.

This massive 5000mh battery will get you around six and a half hours of screen time, and it can last more than a day when you use this phone lightly.

Performance:

The phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 920 chipset paired with 6GB/8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage. There is no option to expand using a microSD card slot. I personally think that 128GB of storage is enough for daily use. But everyone may have their own needs. This phone has a vapor chamber cooling system to reduce temperature.

The Realme Narzo 50 Pro 5G runs Android 12 based on Realme UI 3.0, offering a smooth and clean user experience. Realme UI comes with many customization options which help you to personalize your device according to you. Additionally, the phone comes with two years of security support along with one major Android update, ensuring a smooth and secure user experience.

In terms of connectivity options, the phone supports Bluetooth 5.2, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and dual-band Wi-Fi with single 5G cellular connectivity.

Conclusion:

The aggressive pricing of the Realme Narzo 50 Pro 5G could be attractive to many buyers. The Realme Narzo 50 Pro 5G offers you a good display with a nice viewing experience. But the lack of a microSD card slot and a dated Android version change your mind to another device.

Overall in this price point, the Narzo 50 Pro 5G is a good choice and it is worth buying but if you are looking for a slightly higher refresh rate, expandable storage, and an updated Android version then you can look at OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite 5G (Review), iQOO Z7 5G (Review), and Redmi Note 12 5G phones.
