Should you buy the iQOO Z7 to compete with the other phones which are launched in the market? This is my review where you can see if IQOO Z7 5G is worth buying or Not.
Highlights:
The iQOO Z7 5G
is a feature-packed smartphone with performance that is launched in
March 2023 in India. It is the successor of the iQOO Z6 5G, which was
launched last year in India. However, this phone has too many
improvements including a brighter display, performance, improved camera,
and support for faster charging. The iQOO Z7 5G competes against the
recently launched OnePlus IQOO Z7 5G, Realme 10 Pro 5G, and Redmi Note
12 5G.

Design and Display:
The
iQOO Z7 5G comes with a dual-tone matte finish on its back. There is a
large rectangular camera module with a dual LED flash. The solid
construction provides a surprising lightweight of only 173 grams. iQOO
Z7 5G comes with two color options, one is Norway Blue and another one
is Pacific Night.
The
iQOO Z7 5G has a 6.38-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 90Hz adaptive
refresh rate with a 360Hz touch sampling rate. It provides the peak
Brightness of 1300nits that making it a delight for multimedia
consumption and gaming enthusiasts. It also has HDR 10+ support. For
biometrics, there is an in-display fingerprint scanner present under the
display.
Camera Capabilities:
The
iQOO Z7 5G has a dual camera setup with a 64-megapixel OIS that uses
the Samsung GW3 sensor. This is the same sensor that we see in the iQOO
Neo 7 phone. Another sensor is two megapixels for bokeh mode. There is a
16-megapixel camera inside the water drop notch on the front. The
camera UI is similar to previous phones.
The
64MP performs decently in daylight photography. It captures photos with
good colors that look close to natural colors and captures better
details in images. In some cases, after the photo is taken, the
appearance of green increases slightly. Still, the photos clicked under
good lighting conditions are decent. With HDR mode on, the image has a
good dynamic range with a balance of highlights and shadows.
If
we talk about the secondary camera 2MP, it also performs decently. It
enables digital zoom of up to 2x. portrait mode has good edge detection
with a considerable amount of bokeh.
The
16MP selfie camera does a decent job with colors and skin tones.
Although the camera app has some features that make the skin smoother.
You can take group selfies with the selfie camera.
When
you take pictures with this phone at night, it will look very crisp and
bright. Noise is low in well-lit environments, but noise is high in
very low-light environments. If we talk about low-light selfie cameras,
it is quite difficult to focus on multiple people in the frame. The
image quality is quite impressive, and the skin tones are very natural.
The
64MP camera can shoot 4K video at 30fps with good stabilization. In
video recording, you can choose between standard stabilization and ultra
stabilization. The videos had good color and detail, but the dynamic
range could be a little better. With the 16MP selfie camera, you can
record videos up to 1080p at 30 fps.
Battery and Charging:
The
phone comes with a 4500mAh battery under the back panel, which can
easily last a full day. With light usage, you may see only a 30% to 40%
drop in a single usage. A 44W fast charger comes with the box and it can
charge the phone from 0% - 50% in just 25 minutes and up to 100% in 1
hour.
Performance and Connectivity:
The
iQOO Z7 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 920 chipset paired with
6GB or 8GB of RAM. It’s a faster chipset compared with Snapdragon 695
SoC which is present in iQOO Z6 5G. The AnTuTu score comes from this
chipset 438554 and 2270 in the Geekbench Multi-core test which provides a
lag-free experience.
The
IQOO Z7 5G runs Android 13 based on Funtouch OS 13. Funtouch OS has
customization options that help you to personalize your device according
to you. The company claims that they are giving 3 years of security
support along with 2 major Android updates.
Conclusion:
The
IQOO Z7 5G provides an AMOLED display with an in-display fingerprint
sensor, 44W fast charging support, an OIS camera, and a powerful chipset
making it worth buying at this price point.
There
are also some negative points like dated screen design, many bloatware
apps, and average low-light photography that might push you to search
for other alternatives. Speaking of alternatives that are present in the
market, Realme Narzo 50Pro 5G (Review), OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite 5G (Review), Redmi Note 12 5G. Overall, if you are searching for a good phone under Rs. 20000, the IQOO Z7 5G offers value for money.
But
now the company has launched the iQOO Z7s in the market instead of this
phone, which can be called its younger brother. You can also check that
phone for under Rs. 20000.
